Beach Weddings
Beach weddings are some of the most romantic weddings to have. I highly recommend having your beach wedding early in the day or near sunset to avoid the hot temperatures mid-day can bring. I have had brides on the beach say they wish they were in my swimsuit because they were so warm wearing their wedding dress! When trying on wedding dresses, choose one that will help keep you cool without too many layers on the bottom.
Maui beaches can get windier as the day goes on, so again, mornings or late day work best to avoid your hair being blown around for photographs. Bring a change of clothes in case your dress gets wet if you ask the photographer to do photographs in the water or waves.

Officiants & Ministers
The island of Maui offers officiants of most religions and non-denominational ministers, as well as local Hawaiian ministers known as Kahu.
Photography
There are many wedding photographers to choose on the island of Maui. I highly recommend checking out several websites to see if a photographers work appeals to you, and talk to the photographer either in person or on the phone and ask questions about what styles of photography they prefer. You want to have a comfortable relationship with the photographer of your choice. Make a list of the photographs you want to make sure are taken, including things like: couple with parents, couple with siblings, couple with officiant, etc, and of any poses or background scenes your prefer.
Flowers
Flowers are an essential part of any wedding ceremony. You can opt to go simple for a small beach wedding and pick up leis and corsages at many local stores including Times Supermarket. If you would like a bouquet or crown custom made, there are several flower shops or local florists who can help.

Wedding Permits and Licenses
Beach ceremonies in Hawaii are government regulated. Up to 20 people are allowed at a beach wedding; this includes the wedding couple, the officiant, the musician, the photographer, the wedding planner, and your guests.
